Perfect weekend getaway
We spent a couple of nights here for a wedding and really enjoyed it! The staff were super friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Our room was spotless, and breakfast was made to order and delicious! One thing – the Wi-Fi was kinda slow at times, but no biggie. it was fab!

excellent central base for city tours and park visits
During my stay, I was charmed by the beautiful flowers surrounding the inn and enjoyed a lovely, undisturbed meal in a spacious setting. it made me feel right at home as I prepared for my weekend adventures exploring nearby attractions like Wildwood Escot just 2.5 km away and Otter Nurseries Garden Centre only 2.5 km away, perfect for my city strolls and park views. Single travelers will appreciate the friendly staff and comfortable ambiance that really enhance the experience, but I did find the TV in the room didn't work well and was a bit frustrating.

Charming exterior with beautiful flowers around the property. The spacious seating area provides a comfortable space to enjoy meals, allowing for a quieter experience away from children playing in a designated area.
Rooms retain excessive heat, making them stuffy without ventilation or fans, which can be uncomfortable for some. The 1970s plumbing struggles to handle good water pressure, leading to a wet bathroom floor after a shower. Breakfast options lacked presentation. an omelette appeared sparse with tiny tomato and mushroom pieces, making the dish underwhelming. The noise from lorries passing on a busy road can be disruptive, especially if you request a quiet room. the small double beds may not suit taller guests, and pillows felt flat, potentially compromising sleep quality.

The oak-beamed bar provided a charming and cozy atmosphere for evening drinks.
The room could really benefit from ceiling fans to manage the heat better during warm days.

We had a fantastic family stay with two couples at this lovely spot! The location is surrounded by stunning East Devon countryside, with a fantastic play area for the kids. The Sunday lunch was a standout, we loved the succulent roast lamb and delightful desserts.
In my wife's opinion, the Wi-Fi was pretty much useless.

Had an awesome time with my friends! We explored the stunning countryside with Land Rover instructors and took on some climbing activities. The food was great, and the atmosphere was super friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and hot, which was just what we needed after a long day of adventures.
The mattress in our room was a bit worn out, making it uncomfortable to sleep on.

We spent 2 nights in a Standard Double Room and enjoyed the delicious breakfast variety. Each evening's dinner impressed us, especially the Ploughman's with homemade Scotch egg. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, making our stay a pleasure. Consider dining here for unique local flavors!

The charming traditional oak-beamed bar exudes warmth with its log burner fireplace, creating an inviting atmosphere that made evening drinks so delightful. I felt wonderfully comfortable navigating the accessible areas with a serene ambience throughout.
Could use some ceiling fans for warm days.

I enjoyed my time here, especially after savouring dinner every evening for three nights and lounging in the lovely garden area. The outdoor seating was perfect for unwinding, and the view was stunning. Just a heads up, the power to the extension cord turned off when I switched off the lamps, which was a bit concerning, but overall, I had a fantastic stay! 😊

wonderful stay near enchanting parks and culture hub
The staff were brilliant, making my stay incredibly warm and welcoming, and I truly enjoyed the convenience of being just a few minutes from Wildwood Escot, which offers fantastic walking paths and nature experiences. As a bonus, the Thelma Hulbert Gallery, with its engaging art exhibits, was less than 6 km away, perfect for my afternoon explorations. The room was cozy and had everything I needed for my solo stay, but the mirror in the bathroom could have been positioned better for ease when getting ready.

The location in Honiton was nice, making it easy to explore the area. The warm welcome from the owners set a positive tone for my stay. My room had a fresh deco and was kept clean throughout my visit. I enjoyed the comfortable bedding, which provided a good night's sleep. The breakfast offered decent variety, and I particularly liked the cooked options. the mattress had seen better days. It sagged noticeably on one side, making it uncomfortable. A better mattress would have improved my overall comfort. Wi-Fi connection was a hassle at times. The TV signal wasn’t great in the evenings, which was a disappointment during my downtime. I tried the pub's dinner menu. the food quality impressed me, but a few menu options were high-priced compared to similar places. The check-out time felt rushed at 10 am, especially after a late night. I think an extra hour could enhance the experience significantly.
